As the song played on, Nora rested her head against his shoulder, breathing in his scent, letting herself feel safe again. And for the first time since the locker room incident, she allowed herself to imagine a future where she didn’t have to hide, where love didn’t have to hurt, and where her walls could slowly lower not all at once, but just enough for someone worth it to see her.
