Mason’s voice came, low… cold. Jake’s demeanor shifted instantly, sweat beginning to bead along his temple. “Ma—son…” his voice shook. “I see you were in the middle of something. Go ahead.” Jake froze, then slowly stepped back toward the table, reaching for what looked like a pistol. I rushed to Mason, who was already on his feet. A gunshot rang out. I flinched, covering my ears. Jake collapsed to the floor, blood spreading from his abdomen. “I want him alive,” Mason said coldly. “Until he wishes for death with every breath.”

I wanted to run back and take the sheet fabric to cover my body again but I felt my knees weaken with how intense he was looking at me. He is not the Prince. He is obsessed with me.” He nods sullenly, “I know, that’s why I’m going to kill him.” My heart races with the prospect of Jayce dying. “Jayce, no. You can’t do that,” I say, grasping onto his neck as if he would jump out of my arms to go challenge him right this second. He smirks, “Why? Because I’m an Omega?”

I scrambled through the alley and launched myself into the sedan, my head bumping someone’s thigh. Given that thigh was wearing expensive pants, I began to worry that I was being tricked and had just gone through this whole ordeal only to find Masterson was playing another one of his sick games. However, when I looked up, I saw Jake, the guy from the funeral. “Hi,” he said, his expression as bewildered as I felt. “Hi,” I replied. “So, apparently Masterson wants to kill me. I’m getting the impression he’s not terribly fond of you,” Jake said.

His eyes met with Mason's snickering one, and he finally understood that Mason had schemed at him again. "Jason, can you tell me what happened between you and Mason?" Jason faintly glared at the scheming Mason before he shook his head. "Nothing." Due to the fact that Mason had annoyed him when he was doing his homework, Jason had called him silly and mistakenly revealed about Jarek teaching him hacking unknown to him that Mason will be using it to his advantage. Jarek calmly repeated all Mason had just said, "Is that true?" Jason glared at Mason, but Mason purposely hugged Jarek tighter while snickering at him.
