He said, motioning for me to follow him. Dread coiled in my stomach. “Has something happened to him?” “I’ll explain on the way.” My mind raced with thoughts of Jake. What had he gotten himself into? “You’re done with all your subjects?” he asked as if that really mattered to him. “Yeah, exams are finally over,” I replied, waiting for him to spill out because, in my heart, worries started to make me sick. “Where’s Jake?” Mason’s grip tightened on the steering wheel. “BlackWager Fight Club.”

Just then his phone chirped with a message from his personal aid and it read "We found one of the men caught on the screen to be Otani Jason, mega Island god of war's only son!" Jake looked completely shocked at that, his lips parting slightly in surprise, as if this had never occurred to him. Of course, he did had a son...

"Can you hear yourself right now? Alpha Jake is our friend and what do you want me to do? You expect me to betray my friend? Have you gone insane, Jason? You want me to kill Alpha Jake?" Jason, the son of one of the elders of the Pack Council, was someone whom I took as a friend. In fact, Jake had accommodated him countless times when his father thought he was useless in the family. And here he was, telling me to betray someone who had shown him love?

Although all three of them were friends, Mason was their leader and called the shots. He taught them everything they knew about surviving on the battlefield since he was a naturally gifted warrior who was swift with weapons and unbeatable in a brawl from when he was a boy. What surprised Jackson the most was the reaction of the king and queen. They seemed to be pleased with what was going on between Mason and the princess. He became more surprised when the king said, "Athena, why don't you take Mason to your bedroom so you both can talk since he seems to have a lot to say? We will be waiting for the both of you here."

Jake went to free Chris from the tree. Ashley, though distracted by the chaos surrounding her, felt a momentary spark of hope. With a few swift movements, Xander was able to wrestle the gun away from Mason. While Jake was fighting with his other henchmen to keep them from attacking Xander. Xander picked up the gun and pointed it at Mason’s head. Mason lifted his hands in the air. "Get out! All of you!" Xander yelled at them. "I will be back!" Mason got up from the floor and started running away into the dense forest while his henchmen ran after him.

It was Jake. Not Tristan.

Jake said, flipping through the neck page of the letters he had received but he stiffened immediately at the powerful scent that wafted through his nostrils which had nothing like his Beta. “Fucking Holy Moon Goddess!!” Jake exclaimed the moment his eyes left the papers to see the figure that entered. His only friend and buddy he had almost practically abandoned due to pack activities. “You didn't tell me you were coming Raze!!!” He laughed and stood up to give a hard hug at the Lycan King who scoffed. “One would think you're so excited to see me, Jake, cut the crap. How disappointed are you right now?” Raze asked and he chuckled.

She is really getting used to it. "Yup! She doesn't even know how to respect herself. It's a good thing that even though I'm drunk I was able to reject her," Lucas said with so much disgusted with his eyes. "Supposedly disgusted but if I didn't catch it, it probably would have continued," Laughing promise by Joshua Lambert. He is the noisiest of them all and he is also the one where Hera feels very light. Maybe because the way he stares at her was not the same way Kyle and Lucas stared at. Those two are bit serious while Joshua is so fun to be with. He is so talkative, that’s why.

“No is no.” Mason chuckled. “You are cute when you try to act brave.” He commented, lifting her chin to look at him. “But it seems you don’t know who I am yet. Brownie.” He leaned in, his voice low and deadly. “My name is Mason King. Son of the Alpha king of the Everbite pack and soon to be Alpha. Brother to Darius King—the same Darius who can rip throats out without blinking, he thrives on pain, and I thrive on chaos.”

It was fleeting but I was sure I felt something that could not be explained. “Will he be alright?” I asked. “Who? Alpha Lukas?” I nodded. “You might not know this but he's the best warrior in our pack. He can take down several men at once. You don't need to worry” he reassured, a cheeky smile on his face. “I'm just asking. I'm not worried” I replied, my voice dropping down a notch. We are at the crack of dawn. The maids in the pack house were already up and working.
