She likes being held upright against a shoulder. She hates the swing, which was expensive and is now decorative. She loves bath time with a joy that seems disproportionate to the experience of being gently bathed in warm water. She hates diaper changes with an equal and opposite conviction. She tracks faces with her eyes and has been smiling for two weeks now, real smiles, not gas, and the first time she aimed one at Dominic he stood very still for a full three seconds before saying quietly, "She smiled at me," which was the most undone I've ever seen him.
