I laughed after admiring the words written by Jane Austen. The words go as, “The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.” I totally agreed with this. Though during my life on the island, I had no access to a good novel but my life itself there was a novel. Really. Isn’t it what it needed? A heroine in distress getting lost with the hero… Then… I don’t know. Zack? Could Zack be my hero? Absolutely not. Not when he could never love.

I open it with curiosity and I jump up my seat when I realize what it is. “Leopold this is crazy! How did you get this?!” I ask perplexed. “No, it’s not crazy, it’s a present. Do you like it?” Leopold asks amused. “How could I not? Are you kidding? Of course, I do!” I exclaim thrilled. Inside the package, there is a three-volume first edition from 1816 of the novel Emma by Jane Austen. I look at the old books in disbelief. This is an invaluable antique. It must have been extremely expensive and hard to get.

Elaine said, appreciating the concern. Elaine and I chatted into the night, I noticed her eyes light up as she talked about her favorite books. "Have you read any of Jane Austen's novels?" she asked me excitedly. "Yes! Pride and Prejudice is one of my all-time favorites," I replied, smiling at her enthusiasm. "Oh my gosh, I love that one too! Mr. Darcy is just so swoon-worthy," Elaine gushed, her cheeks turning pink. I laughed at her reaction. "I have to admit, I may have a bit of a crush on him myself."

What else would you recommend?” The sales assistant continued selecting books, giving a brief description for each one. “Oh, and we also have some romantic adventure books, like ‘Treasure Island’ by Robert Louis Stevenson, which focuses more on adventure and pirates.” Jack listened carefully and selected several books with the assistant’s guidance. “I think she’ll like these,” he said, smiling. I was required to do well in school, stay pure, which meant don’t hang out with boys, get classes in decorum, dancing, party planning, budget management, and everything else that was really boring to a teenage girl.
