Jason Zweig Books Novels & Stories

She had already struggled before the incident in Damian’s office, and now it had become even more difficult. Zaria was a complete mess. She simply stared blankly at her open notes, which had somehow opened without her realising. The pages were clean; not a single word had been written on them. “Zaria?” A voice startled her. She blinked and saw Jason standing beside her desk. He was carrying two thick books and a cup of coffee. “What are you doing?” Jason asked, looking confused. “Aren’t you studying?” Zaria looked at her workspace. There was nothing there. The desk was clear of books, papers and pens. Only the computer was on, displaying a blank document, and a notebook lay open, but there w

Rhea watched as Jason opened his gift, staring at him with the same intensity as she had when he was eating the previous night. "Stop staring Rhea and open your own gift," Jason said and pouted as she opened her gift. She smiled as she saw the book in front of her, it was a familiar one, it looked like the one she had left in New York, but it was different, that one was empty. Jason had gotten her a planner as she moved to Chicago she had tried to buy that exact planner and she had not found it, she checked online but to no available. "Thank you so much Jason, I love it," she said hugging him.

“This is insane. You’re gutting half of Walker Enterprises.” "Not gutting," Jason corrected. “Cleansing. Every deal Andrew made, every dirty secret buried in these books, I’m burning it out. No more covert projects. No more backroom weapons. From now on, everything goes to clean tech, cybersecurity, humanitarian work. If we’re going to be remembered, it won’t be for the sins of my family. It’ll be for something better.” Leah studied him for a long moment. She saw the determination in his jaw, the way his fingers tapped the table with restless energy.

The news still hadn't learned Alex was safely home. For once... We intended to keep it that way. Jason remained in his study. His expression had changed. He looked... Focused. Dangerously focused. "What are you doing?" He didn't look away from the monitors. "I'm going hunting." I smiled. "Digitally, I hope." A faint grin appeared. "Digitally." Dozens of programming windows filled the screens. Lines of code appeared faster than I could read them. Jason never stopped typing. "I've built a micro-bug."

Twenty minutes felt like nothing and everything at the same time. I sat in that car looking at Jason’s resignation letter on my phone screen and kept coming back to the same thought. He had walked away from his family’s company, not under pressure, not because the lawyers told him to, not because Richard had forced his hand. He had done it the morning after I pulled him out of a building where Daniel Reeves had been standing behind him reading documents that could end both of them. He had done it because it was the right thing to do. And Jason Vanguard doing the right thing was something I was still learning how to hold.

I stared down at the book in Jason’s hand. A wave of familiarity came over me, followed by confusion. I’ve seen that book before, a long while ago in Philly. It was the one that Jason forbade me not to read, so why was it here now? I didn’t think that it would play a big role in whatever ordeal we were having here, yet the intrigue and curiosity I had wasn’t quenched.

I hissed under my breath. It seemed like they’d heard the sound, because the house suddenly went quiet. “What’s that, Jason?” the woman asked, her voice laced with curiosity. “Nothing,” Jason replied. “It’s nothing.” “But I heard something.” “Yeah, I heard it too. It’s probably one of my books falling off the shelf.” “I didn’t know you read, Jason.” Me too. I wouldn’t believe someone like Jason would hold something as fragile as a book. “Well, I do.”

I retorted. "Yeah, maybe all I'm missing is the towel that I'll use to wipe my sweat," Jason joked. "Seriously though," I laughed, "Good point." "Another secret for you to keep," Jason mused. "I don't have secrets," I refuted. "Everyone has secrets," he said in a matter-of-fact tone. "You think I have secrets?" I was seriously intrigued. He didn't acknowledge the question and opened his new book. "A bad boy that likes to read," I whispered, "still insane."

Jason returns to the newly found buried treasure ( the library ) immediately after the announcement not to leave the campgrounds made by Miss Claire. As he dives into one of the books there, he quickly realized how much he missed the gentle pounding of his heart due to excitement, and the growing suspense inside him in expectation of what he was about to dive into. But perhaps being possessed by a cold soulless creature isn't that bad after all. The thought came across his mind. It has its perks.

Jayden asked worriedly. "Don't you think she'd even find it more suspicious someone out there knows she's an hybrid?" Jason asked. "I took care of those things guys, we don't have to worry about the book being traced to her and I don't think she knows anything about hybrids or the opportunity that lies in it. It's why I got her that book." Zayne said pressing his phone as he explained to his friends. "Well, still you remember she's a lady yh. She might freak out someone out there knows she's an hybrid." Jason said looking at Zayne with a questioning look.
