For some days I've been having constant waist pain and since Jasper was my nurse and the only friend I could call on, I sent for him. "Jasper.." I drawled, "Is there anything that you aren't telling me?" He kept mute, his silence assuring me that I wasn't wrong. "Now do you mind telling me what I need to know? I promise to keep my lips sealed," I assured him, making a physical sign of someone zipping his lips and throwing away the key. He sighed with his shoulder drooped and returned to the bed. "I'm a werewolf." He blurted and I froze as nothing prepared me for what he just revealed.

I wondered what they were thinking. “I’m Alpha Declan of the Whitewater pack,” I told him, stepping towards them, and extending my hand. “We appreciate you coming to help.” His brows furrowed, and his face scrunched up awkwardly. He paused a moment, as if deciding what to say, then reached out and took my hand in a firm grip. “What happened to Alpha Jasper? I thought he was the Alpha of the Whitewater pack.” “He was...” My voice trailed off as I remembered what had happened to Alpha Jasper. “I killed him and claimed the title he stole from my father.”

“I’m going to give him exactly what he wants. Me.” She shook her head. “Jake, he already killed someone! He’s dangerous.” Jake grinned, his phone already in his hand. “Trust me, Whit, he’s not nearly as dangerous as I am.” He started typing out a text and smiled at the reply he got. “Did you bring anything with you? A bag of clothes?” “No, I just grabbed my purse and left. I didn’t even think—”

I sighed, shaking my head. “Stop teasing me, old man,” she snorted. “How much older than you is this guy?” her friend questioned. Yep, I’m not going to like this kid. “He’s twenty-eight. And don’t start your judgmental crap Alexander Michael Whitland. Or should I remind you about Isabelle Santi.,” her words became muffled as I’m guessing the boy covered her mouth to stop her. “Do not bring her up,” Alex warned. “Then don’t sit there and judge me about Logan,” Aurelia snorted.
