Mercy. She noticed how his gait was strong as he approached them. Shoulders squared and chest puffed out. She always found Jasper intimidating with his good build and height but now as she stared at Aiden standing in front of him. He was another definition of dominance and intimidation. He gave off this dark, ruthless aura with that handsome face that had her stomach twisting up in excitement and fear of the unknown. "You must be Ava's friend. I'm Aiden Whitlock." He held his hand out and Jasper shook it.

She pressed her palm to her chest dramatically. I took a sip of my wine, trying to calm my racing heart. "You mean between Gael and Jackson?" She nodded enthusiastically, settling into the chair Jackson had left behind. "Oh yes. But first, let me tell you about Jackson Whitmore. He's a complete scumbag. Accused of rape and murder too." I nearly choked on my wine, looking at her with wide eyes. His appearance hadn't suggested that at all... he'd seemed like any other wealthy guy.

Maxwell asked, trying to get an update on Jasper's condition. But Clement had enough of Rachel and replied nonchalantly, "You should look for help somewhere else." With that, Clement left the house. Maxwell looked at Rachel in a daze. "What happened? Why is Dr. Watkins acting like this?" "He's just a useless foreigner!" Rachel cried in frustration. "He said there's no hope for Jasper! But I don't believe it. Jasper won't die!" Maxwell immediately ran upstairs. He found Jasper lying in bed, struggling for air. Rachel was crying beside him, her sobs irritating Maxwell.

Jasper did not go home that night. He found some motel and stayed there through the night. He did not want to talk to his mother or his sister, he wasn't ready ready to face them. He reflected on all that happened to him for the past few years. He has not been able to get happiness since that incident happened. He kept thinking about it, he always thought he had a bright future. He thought good things would last for him. That only changed the moment he was convicted for a crime he knew nothing about. He was a doctor a surgeon to be precise, he loved his job very well and he was very skillful.

Without thinking about his actions he held her hand tight and pulled her to his chest, hugging her tight as she finally cried. “Do- Domi-nic Hale’s grandfather was a hunter.” Skye started while hiccupping and sobbing, whilst clutching onto the Alpha and Hakan felt his whole body freeze and his blood run cold when he heard the words following her sentence, “a Legacy Wolf hunter.”

The smell of antiseptic was so strong in the air it threatened to burn my nostrils, but it was far better than the scent of blood that lingered in my mind. The bloodstained clothes I still wore contrasted against the white sheet that was pulled over him and I was afraid of what I’d see if I pulled it back. The lump in my throat grew bigger as I opened my mouth to speak, silencing even my sobs.

"Have you lost your mind? If you don't want to die, let us go right now! You can't afford the consequences for harming the child I'm carrying!" Jasper said nothing. He calmly drew the long whip from his waist. With a flick of his wrist, a sharp crack tore through the air. A searing pain exploded across my knees. I crashed down to the ground. The freshly opened wounds sank into dust and mud. For a moment, I could feel the pain right in my bones.

“But I have the right to know, who is the guy that Ava had married.” This caused Ava to look around and noticed that they were the only three in the room at the moment. “Al is a detective for the police force in Spokane.” She gave her friend a glare, as he raised his eyebrows. “We met after he had saved me from an encounter of a life and death situation.” This caused Dustin to deflate. “You do realize that I’m older than you, don’t you?” “What do you mean?” “I’m twenty years old.”

After arriving in Cromenia, they had quickly headed to one of the factories where the workers went on strike, pacifying the situation. On the way back, they were attacked by over twenty men. Jasper only had two men with him, and one was killed while the other was in critical condition. Jasper fared just a little better, but he still lost a leg after. Naturally, he managed to take down every last one of his assailants to save one, whom they interrogated. However, they already knew the answer, and it was the same if they didn't ask. Luke was clearly antsy as he stood by his bed. "Ms. Whitley is in the country, sir. Are you really just going to ignore her?"

“Why does it seem like Mr. Whitlock’s outburst is suddenly my fault? Jasper, I only spoke to him because he asked questions. I didn’t say anything offensive toward Rhea — the translator can vouch for that.” Orion stepped in at once, nodding. “Mr. Silvercrest, what Mrs. Silvercrest said is true. She didn’t say anything negative to Mr. Whitlock. She merely answered his questions politely.” “So what?” Jasper snapped. “Mr. Whitlock just talked to you, and right after that, his attitude completely changed! That means you must’ve said something to upset him, which made him turn his anger on Rhea. So go talk to him and clear things up—explain everything and defend Rhea’s name!”
