I crashed heavily against the sandy ground. A loud thud echoed as my forehead collided with a small rock. Blood trickled down my forehead. My vision blurred from pain. I rose to my knees, pain shooting through my very core as I quietly observed the scene before me. I watched the worm cautiously as it surfaced in random location in seconds. It's mouth opened wide whenever it surfaced and closed shut whenever it burrowed back into the earth— enclosing a player in it's ferocious Jaws. This was it, hell as we knew it.

Their bodies aligned in that new hold, his knee occasionally brushing hers as they turned. Sweat prickled along my spine under my jacket. I wanted to feel the impact of bone on bone. One clean hook to the jaw, the kind that snaps the head back and leaves a bruise for weeks. I’d done it before in rougher settings and Jason’s type folded quick once blood hit the floor. Here, though, I swallowed the impulse like bad liquor.
