We stopped walking, now standing near the middle of the poolside, the water shimmering beside us.
“I know a man with intentions,” he continued, his voice lower, sharper. “And I clearly don’t want my wife anywhere near his radar.”
There was a hiss of warning beneath his words, making me tilt my head slightly.
“Do you get jealous, hubby?” I asked, watching him closely.
He didn’t answer immediately.
“I am not jealous,” he said flatly. “I can just kill them if I want to.”
He was jealous.
I shook my head, half-amused and half-concerned. “Please don’t do that.”
