Their was something different about Jase. I couldn’t quite tear my gaze away from him. His hair was always full and curly, long enough to drop a little past his shoulder. He’d normally let it down to frame the both sides of his face like a curtain. But that day was different. My pouting seemed to work as he mumbled something about me colluding with the enemy and turned his back. Ecstasy got to work cutting and shaving. He did a really good job and had a speed and precision that made the cut go faster. I watched him cut my hair more, and I tried not to panic. I was going for a look that wasn’t my normal look. I was a soft fade guy. I was always put together. That was the hairstyle my parents wanted from me, and even when Dante took me for a cut, I still had something that screamed "put together." Jamie said, his tone telling me he wasn’t joking. Grandma laughed. “Okay, not today.” She winked at me. “Maybe another time. Jamie had a super rad haircut back then.” His face was turning red, and I desperately wanted to know what she was talking about, but I figured like most other things, I would bide my time. I imagined if anyone had one of those big afro-like haircuts, it would be Elliott not Jamie, so I could only speculate on what would be so funny, but I was hoping someone would let me see soon enough.

JOSH POV I check my appearance in the hotel’s floor length mirror one last time. I just had a haircut in preparation for tonight’s date… hopeful date, anyway. I have it styled short on the sides and back with a little longer on top. Several of the guys on the team say it is a soft, modified version of a high and tight and I can’t disagree. I don’t like my hair long. Never have. It makes my helmet sit weird if it’s too long. That’s a distraction on the field that I don’t need. So, I’ve set a haircut schedule to every three weeks and that seems to be the perfect interval to keep it manageable.
