JESSICA'S POV Now I have nothing to do. I just look and eat without warning anything throughout the day. The man at the bar told me to resume the next day. That wasn't so hard was it. I decided to take a walk downtown. If I stay with myself too much, I might just start overthinking. It was just morning and it was quite stupid to take a walk. That man yesterday really screwed things up for me. As I walked down the road, I felt a movement behind me. I stopped and looked back but no one was there. But something was really off. Jessica's POV. As I paced the hospital corridor, anxiety gnawing at my insides, the door suddenly exploded open. I jumped, my heart leaping into my throat. A wave of police officers stormed in, their uniforms crisp and authoritative. Leading them was Allison Miles—my nemesis, my worst nightmare. She had returned, and she looked every bit the powerful agent I remembered. The officers fanned out, their presence overwhelming, as they began to speak. Their leader, a tall man with a stern face, addressed me directly. “Jessica, you are under arrest for multiple offenses, including but not limited to—fraud, assault, attempted murder, and illegal surveillance.”

Ever. Dante left to talk with some business partners and Antonio and Dante were doing the same. The other older Romano siblings were doing the same, which left Jessica and the triplets sitting at the table joking and laughing. Everyone knew who she was at that point, the Romanos introduced her as their missing mafia princess. But then suddenly Jessica turned and looked around. She felt her chest hurt all of a sudden, she got a bad feeling but she doesn't know why. That bad feeling was especially for Dante and she started searching for him. Her eyes zeroed on the red dot on his clothes chest.

He paused, taking his eyes back to Jack, “I will fight for what I want.” After Elias spoke these words, he disappeared into the shadows. Jessica was expecting something heated after those threats, but he was gone as quickly as he arrived. With a sigh of relief, Jessica figured that the encounters with these men wouldn’t be so terrible after all. The remaining time of the funeral seemed to pass by in a blur. Jessica’s mind wandered through the events that had occurred today, realising she had missed the Eulogy. Her head was whirling with so many unanswered questions.
