Paint what you feel when we touch you. When we fuck you. When we make you come apart. I want to see it on canvas.” Kai nodded. “We’ll pose for you too. Anytime you want. Naked or dressed, however you need us.” Vale reached over and brushed his thumb across my lower lip. “But only after you eat. You’re going to need your strength today.”

Our new product consisted of an eye palette with an art theme. I sampled some colors from famous paintings such as Da Vinci’s Monalisa, Klimt’s The Kiss, Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, and Rembrandt’s The Night Watch. I was excited with that product, because I was contributing not just as the boss, but also as an artist. It was nice to include something that you love to your work.

“Inspect the tableware, Chika.” Confused by his focus on the porcelain, I stepped to the mahogany edge and picked up a heavy, custom-fired ceramic bowl. To my absolute disbelief, an elite graphic artist had printed a stylized, sharp-chinned cartoon image of my wolf form—complete with my distinct silver-tinted fur and arrogant scowl—directly onto the glaze of every plate and vessel. Thinking my vision was playing tricks due to the concussion, I picked up a platter, inspecting the border work three times.

The sun was setting, painting the room in warm gold and soft shadows.
