Saving Grace
It would mean almost sleeping against each other because of how tiny the bed was, but it seemed like it was what Grace needed at that moment.
They both lay down, and Charlotte pulled the blanket against them to their shoulders, still holding her with the other hand. She closed her eyes, humming softly into her ear so that that would distract her from the thunder sound. After a while, Grace stopped shaking, like she had fallen asleep, and then Charlotte stopped humming, then she closed her eyes to sleep.
The sleep had almost overshadowed her when she heard a whisper, one she wasn't sure she heard truly, or her mind had played tricks on her. "Thank you, Charlotte. You’re a blessing.”
