Hiding a smile, I turned and walked back to the gate. "Ugh! What is it again?" the mean guard who'd sneered earlier snapped at me. I didn't let it faze me and I went on. "What's your name?" "Wait what?" he glanced at me looking lost. When he still didn't answer, I looked at his outfit and there just so happened to be a name tag pinned to the right breast pocket of his suit. The name TODD was written in uppercase on the tag. "Great. So it's Todd and," I looked over at his partner and got his name, "Maurice. Todd and Maurice. Got it!" Then I pulled at myself and acted as though as I was about to call somebody.

She doesn’t seem to loathe the contact either, or perhaps she forgot about my hand surrounding her nape. “We have the post, sir.” “And that’s important enough to interrupt me?” I don’t hide the venom in my tone. Valerie elbows me again. “Stop being a dick.” And then she directs her sunshine smile to my assistant. “Thank you, Kevin.” “My pleasure, Mrs. Cantrell.” “His name is Hawthorne,” I say. “That’s his last name, and this isn’t the twentieth century,” she shoots back. How did she even know that? “Besides, Leo is a cute nickname.”

“Go get some.” I grinned and hurried to the break room to find Dr. Mathews and Dr. Taggert sitting at the break room table eating pizza together. I had to consciously force myself not to look at the wall where Jacob had pressed me up and made me shiver with pleasure. As if sensing my thoughts, Dr. Mathews looked up at me. “Hannah.” The sound of his voice saying my name gave me goosebumps. Dr. Taggert turned and grinned at me. He usually played Santa for all the kids at Christmas, and even in the summer he still had the white beard, though he kept it trimmed short. “Hannah!”

Isabella’s POV “Elon Bark?” I muttered, blinking like maybe the words would rearrange themselves into something less absurd. Nope. Still there. I rubbed at the tag like a crazy person, but the name glared back at me like a cosmic middle finger. I whispered it again like an idiot, half-expecting the letters on the tag to magically change into “Spot” or “Max” or literally anything less ridiculous. But nope. Still there. Clear as day. Elon. Freaking. Bark.

“Then let us proceed.” The clerk turned her attention to Halo first. "Please state your full name." Halo inhaled. "Halo Alfred Remington." She didn’t think it would feel like this at first, but the thought of knowing that this would be the last time she would officially refer to herself as Halo Remington felt like.......relief. The clerk nodded and then shifted to Talon. Despite already knowing him. It was customary that they stated their names themselves. “ "And yours?" "Talon Sullivan Ashwood."

Helma, could not understand why she was bittered and who she was to dress inappropriately to a firm. Jane called out to Helma "You can go in now. 4th floor, last office by your right". I asked and he chuckled. "Why are you asking me? You should ask him yourself," he said with a teasing voice and I scoffed. I knew his name started with a J, because on his name plate in his office, his initials were written there. J. S. Hale. "We're here," Dante finally announced, knocking on the door of the office. When we got no response, Dante frowned. Quickly, he pushed the door open and hurried in. I went after him and stopped, my throat tightening.
