Devotion Prayer Book Novels & Stories

"As we forgive those who trespass against us…” I curled my fingers deeply inside her, pressing against that spot that made her see stars. "Lead us not into temptation and shit..." She gasped out, her prayer breaking off into moans. I thrust harder, knowing I was the reason her words and thoughts were scrambled"...and deliver us from evil…”

Gideon By the gods, this woman was going to be a pain in my ass. I had to choose one with such a fiery temper. Nevermind her temper, she was vengeful. Spiteful. She was absolutely diabolical. She was perfect. The way she ripped his trachea straight from his throat was so masterful. The clean separation of his head from his body was going to be engraved in my memory forever. Oh, but the thing that got me the most, was watching her suck the soul from him. It made me hard just thinking about it.

Nicholas insisted on tidying up, brushing off my offer to help. He was just simply stubborn. So, I decided to roam around as he cleaned up our little mess. It is also to make the food go down. I wandered among the shelves, trailing my fingers over the spines of the books. The piles of books are fascinating since they all look classic and just ancient. While looking, my gaze landed on one of the books where a piece of paper slipped out. I grabbed the book, saw the title as Forbidden Devotion, and found a nearby table. Perched on the edge of the table, I eagerly flipped through the pages. But instead of a story, I stumbled upon a stash of folded papers nestled within the book's pages.

Ruth got all my clothes from the cupboard and finally found the business card in the deepest corner. At the same time, she found a folder in the lowest drawer. Inside was an agreement on kidney donation. A few years ago, Ruth had been diagnosed with uremia and needed a new kidney. I'd secretly done the test to see whether I was a match for her. I was, so I'd donated my kidney to her. I'd never told Ruth about it, though. I didn't want her to be with me just to repay me. I loved her, so I didn't want her to bear the burden of these things.

The creaking of the giant double doors sent a wave of fear through the chained-up man and gestured that it was a sign for him to stop what he was doing, but the fear quickly morphed into a burning rage. The doors swung open, revealing a man whose body is chiseled to perfection. His dark suit wrapped around his body, his green eyes devoid of emotion as he surveyed the scene. This was Lucien Belucci, the man known as the Devil’s Incarnate, the most infamous name in the mafia world dubbed devil’s incarnate for being cold, merciless, and having no regard for life. “I knew you’d betray me. Bastardo!” the chained-up man snarled in a thick Italian accent, the veins in his neck standing out in rage.

What was truly wrong was two-timing, stringing people along, using others, and refusing to repent. Soon, Frederick finished his apology. Now it was Angela's turn. She stood up, paused for a moment, and merely said, "Good looks are not a free pass for bad behavior. Those who lack conscience and respect will be weeded out." The whole venue fell silent in an instant. Her words were simple enough, but in this setting, they carried a sharp, commanding weight, especially after Frederick's pitiful little speech. "Wow, she's amazing. I'm starting to really like her. She's got solid morals."

“And how did you feel afterward?” “Guilty,” I whispered. “But not enough to stop me from coming back.” He nodded once, like he’d expected exactly that answer. “Kneel.” I dropped to the stone floor in front of the table. The cold bit into my knees. The open book waited. The new chapter was titled *Deeper Repentance*. “Read,” he ordered. “From the top. Loud and clear this time.” My voice shook as I began. “I renounce the weakness of my body. I offer every impure touch to God as suffering. I reject the pleasure that pulls me from grace…”

But thee room filled with silence and no one dared to look at the demon. “Do you pray before and after meals?” she asked Devon, while Finn and Hadues, sitting beside him, were trembling. “From now on, you should pray,” she said kindly. Devon suddenly remembered his mother, who always prayed before and after meals. “What do I need to do?” he asked, unsure. How could a man like him, who only knew how to kill and suddenly needs to pray? Hadues kept reacting to everything the woman said. He looked at her with admiration, just like he did with his brother, but his admiration for her was different. Devon looked like a child, obeying her words.

Sunbathing in my imagination. Temptation, get behind me! Please! Please, get behind me! Okay, wait. I closed my eyes again, whispering the familiar words, clinging to them like a lifeline. Making the sign of the cross, tracing the familiar pattern against my chest. Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
