It was a classic French omelet, pale yellow, silky, and topped with finely minced chives, alongside thick slices of sourdough toast that had been browned to perfection in butter and a side of crispy, glazed bacon.
"Well?" he asked, pulling out my chair for me. "Are you going to stand there and judge the presentation, or are you going to eat?"
