Struggle for a Chance

Struggle for a Chance

"You want some evidence, don't you? Wait, I'll send it to you right away." A few minutes later, a screenshot was sent to Irene's phone. It was an article with a picture that was taken at a hotel abroad. It was an article about Pedro's 70th birthday party. Joanne was seen with Jordan's grandmother in the picture. According to an insider, the Reed family planned to appoint Joanne to be Jordan's fiancee. After reading the article, Irene couldn't hold her phone for a moment, and it fell to her bed. Her whole body followed along before she flounced onto the bed too. Her face felt cold as tears started to cascade down her cheeks.

he hesitated, glancing at Brock, who had followed. “Then what?” I asked, already dreading the answer. “They’re dead,” Joe said grimly. “His wife and at least one of his daughters were killed in a skirmish near the eastern edge of the roguelands seven years ago. Pack scouts reported it. Said the camp was wiped out. They buried the bodies.” I stopped walking. “Only one of his daughters?” Joe gave a sharp nod. “They only found one. The second girl’s body wasn’t recovered. It’s likely she died as well, but… well… you know how it is in the roguelands.”

The Songbird

The Songbird

She said as she thought of him from when she was a child, “He was a stand-up guy from what I remember. I don’t know what the fight was about, but it was bad, and for either my dad or him to get that mad, it had to be bad. However,, he was older than my dad as well, by a few years. That would make him in his seventies now. I was a later in life baby. My dad was in his mid to late forties when I was born. I know that even though he can still act like he is younger, things bother him much more. I am not sure a man that old could seriously keep up the body count like this.” “You do have a point, but we don’t know how they died,” Mason said. “True, it could be something like a poison which wouldn

Bearing Triplets After Forced Marriage

Jennifer quickly rushed to support him, worry evident on her face as she looked at his pale complexion. Mr. Reed clutched his chest, feeling a sharp pain. He looked at his daughter and said, "Jennifer, go find Benjamin. You must find him and ask him to help us. His mother’s death has nothing to do with us. Tell him not to listen to anyone’s gossip." Mr. Reed’s mind was spinning. As long as they could find Benjamin, Jennifer could persuade him to help. He had no choice. He couldn’t fall now. There were still many things he hadn’t accomplished. He still wanted to become the world’s richest man.

Lovers in the Sun

Lovers in the Sun

Damon jumped up from his seat and put both of his hands on Reed's shoulders, "You mean everything to us!" "BUT LILO DIED BECAUSE OF ME!" Reed burst out in tears of rage. Damon pulled him into a tight hug, one that Reed could not escape from as both of them finally shed tears. Chief Han patted the boys on their back before walking out of the house. He stood still on his porch, watching his pack members laid their dead relatives on the ground in front of the house. There were about 100 lives lost that night and the Chief had to plan a mass funeral.

she said to himself, but Reed heard her words loud and clear. "What did you say?" suddenly, he became soft, and his hand shook. "What are you talking about?" He shouted at her, and she ground her teeth. "I said that I was glad that Jenny and her child died because no matter what the situation will be. I would never want to be called your child" She lunged at him and pierced the blade in his heart, and he didn't make any effort even to stop her. He looked at her and then at her hand, which was holding the top of that blade. Blood came out of his mouth, but now his eyes were fixed on her.

This book has a great story line. Lots of mystery to keep your interest and twist and turns to make you read more. I love the main character strong female personality even though indecisive at times. There are errors and the transitions could be better but a good read overall. You will get better!

Worth reading. Has enough action to not be boring nor overwhelming. Great plot twists. FYI: several reviews mention some problems with language/syntax. An author’s note said it costs money to go back and edit. Look, MY English ain’t perfect, but I can understand enough of the story to enjoy it.

The Witch Keeps Time

The Witch Keeps Time

There are deaths that scream. The ones you hear about. The ones people write down. The ones that make sense to witnesses because they announce themselves with drama, with noise, with the sort of finality that allows the living to build a story around the ending. Thomas Reed does not die like that. He dies the way a candle goes out when the room has been too drafty for too long. There is a flicker. A stubborn attempt to remain. Then the flame simply… isn’t.

Reed asked. "You flirt with Sofi?" Jake asked frowning. "Yeah all the time." I said. "Dude, she's my girl." Jake said to his brother. "Which is why am going to stop flirting with her," Reed said laughing as he walked out of the dining room. "I'm happy for guys," Reed added poking his head into the dining room before leaving. All that happened, just a week before his death and that whole week was one of the best of our entire relationship. He died three months ago, but I'm still grieving.

Death Contract

Death Contract

Yet I know more than anyone in this house now that my supposed father has now passed away. Hard as it was, I stood up to approached him. Trembling, I tried to raise my hand holding the death note. Even though my eyes were blurred with tears, I tried to read it without blinking. "Name: Charles Perelman" It was then that memory began to enter into my mind everything he had done in the world. Those memories made me cry even more because they were all smiling faces of his parents, siblings and relatives. By the time his wife, who was from college, came into his life, he admired her a lot. "Age: 42 years old." Until the memories of marriage, childbirth of his wife, pleasure, sorrow. That went as
