James asked, finding me alone on the balcony.
"Just remembering," I said. "Your father and I used to dance at every party."
"You still could," James pointed out. "I'll dance with you."
We danced and I tried not to notice how much my tremors affected my balance, but James held me steady.
"Thank you," I said when the song ended.
"For what?" James asked.
"For being a good son," I said. "For building a life that would have made your father proud."
"I learned from the best," James said.
