“Good morning, ladies, “I coo at them. They moo at me, and I giggle, glancing back at the house. I grab the stool and start with Bessie first. I can tell she’s relieved as I empty her udders. Being in the barn is peaceful. Soon I finish and Lila finds me, “Joshua is hurt, hurry!” I run quickly and follow her to the chicken coop. Joshua has fallen and his knee is scraped. I smile gently at him and help him up, “Let’s get you cleaned up.” Tears fall from his eyes, and I carry him inside. Joshua is only 5 and the smallest. I clean his cuts and scrapes and another flashback hits me. “Maddie, it’s okay.” Colt soothes me as he cleans my wound.

Mason's pov Saturday 18th September 2021 ************************************ It's my birthday today! I'm 27 years old which is getting too close to 30 for my liking but I'm trying to forget about that. My parents are on their way to come and see me before I go to Master's house anyways so they can get my mind off how old I'm getting. Cole and Will each called me to say happy birthday and that they'll see me at the club tonight which I can't wait for.

Joshua answered just one of his question but that's a lot of impact on Leo. "Seriously? Have you experienced s*x before? It's really great you know." He protrudes his lips. "The first time I experienced the pleasure of the flesh was when I was 13, it was so great. I mean it was the very best thing I ever felt in my whole life." He shared to JB who has his eyes a bit open to see him. "Does that connects with your addiction?" Joshua rose an eyebrow yet his posture didn't changed.

He was a 60-year-old man who also used to be an influential figure in the medical world when he was young. Right now, he was talking to Joaquin. Joaquin said, “I heard that your hospital has solved several medical problems again. It seems like you really have a good team, Mr. Cole.” Joshua replied modestly, “This is nothing worth mentioning. Our contribution is nothing compared to yours, Mr. Larson.” Joaquin shook his head and sighed. “You flatter me. More and more talented people are appearing in this world, and it seems to me that Skyspring is going to be famous in the future.”

“Maya’s really pretty” His brows rose and he bit his lip as he grinned, “Yeah she is. Thank you” I really like Cole. He’s so easy to talk to. Since the first day Cole has been nothing but extremely pleasant and open with me. He’s a tall, well-built guy with chocolate brown eyes and hair. He has a light neat beard which makes him look older than he is. That’s when it clicked me. They all are older than me. Cole must be twenty two and Asher would be twenty one or maybe the same age as Cole. Even Maya and Sabine look older.

, I said as the others nodded in agreement. “ So, Francis, what were you able to find out about this Josh?” I asked, turning my attention to Francis. “ Well um……”, Francis began, placing his butt so well on his chair, “ his full name is Joshua Stone Reynolds, a twenty-one year old law student at the Colombian university. He was born in Texas but was raises up here in Central city”, he cleared his throat as if he wanted to say something more important, “ now, I tried looking up on his exact origin; his father, his mother, and all that, and the funny thing here is that there was no particular record about his origin”.

The photos were of a younger Adrian hugging the young Celia around the waist, and they took these by the beach, all smiles. Photo after photo. There were even photos of Adrian kissing Celia. In the last photo, there was a date shown. It was 32 years ago. Joshua smiled and looked at the crowd below the stage. “Does everyone know how old I am this year? I’m thirty.” Upon his words, the crowd fell into verbal mayhem. That meant that before Joshua was even born, Adrian had already had an affair with Celia? Adrian’s face instantly turned blue. Even Granny Lynch’s eyes widened in shock.

I didn’t know about that. “Not just once. He took one after high school then he took one after his freshman year at college. Josh is actually twenty-two years old.” I take in the new information I just found out about him and slowly nod. “Anyway, ever since freshman year, I’ve been so close to him and when he knew I found out, he almost lost his shit.

I looked toward the staircase; my first instinct was to go over to her room and ask her what was wrong, but— I shook the thought off my head and headed to my study. It didn't take long before Collin entered my study carrying another file. "I've got an update." He closed the door behind him. "What did you find?" I closed the document I had been pretending to read. "The more we dig into Josh…” Collin laid several photographs and files across my desk. "The deeper it gets." I picked up the first file, "Speak." "Apart from the gaps in his employment history." He pointed to the timeline. "We discovered two references that no longer exist."

Jason taunted, his grin growing. He leaned back slightly, “Let it go, man. Holding grudges like that’ll give you even more wrinkles.” He added eyeing Cole's slightly wrinkled face. “Though I see it might be a little late for that. You're getting old Cole, maybe it's time to retire.” It had to be said, Cole Vargas was an old man, well into his sixties. But that didn’t make him any less dangerous. Age hadn’t diminished him, it had refined him.
