Taking a deep breath, I set my books on the table and sank onto my bed, my mind still reeling from the encounter in the library. Fear and curiosity waged a battle within me. The fear whispered cautionary tales of the dangers that lay ahead, urging me to distance myself from the supernatural world I had unwittingly become entangled with. Kelly excuses herself and gets in the crowd, her heart were jumping upside down and her knees are shaking as she is hoping that it wasn’t her. Her world slowly get dimmed as she breathe slowly, her heart is pumping very slow and her whole system is shaking as the woman they are talking about laying down on the road with her blood covering some part of her body. Her tears automatically rolled down her cheek as soon as she saw blood flowing out of her private part down to her legs.

Lily couldn’t help but notice the impatience in Rhye’s jaw as he ground his back teeth and his shoulder blades tightened. She hoped she wasn’t reading something into his reaction that wasn’t there, because facing that dense mountain, going in willingly, had her doubting her own senses. The mountain seemed to be calling for her; it was like some primitive urges made her skin crawl. Something deep inside her was slithering like it wanted out. Her pulse was battered. A cold sequence of fear scraped around her heart. She’d traveled so far outside her own solace, away from her comfort zone, that her strengths were already fried. It was too much, too soon.

Its dark colour strapping around me like a vine forcing me to watch and take in the sight filling me with intense fear. The ground is filling up like a closed tub whilst the sky pours, the redness painting my flesh. Looking down at my palm I wonder whose blood this is. I am drenched in it. My heart thumps, the only time I can feel fear is not of battles but of losing someone dear to me. I am scared. Shivering I clutch my body tightly looking for a way out from where I am locked up.

Daniel replied, and we continued walking. Soon, we got there, and we were ushered in to the house, and Daniel helped me settle down on the sofa. “Good day sir. We have come to inform you that we’ll be going on the Journey of Fear.” Daniel informed the old man. The journey of fear? Did it mean we were going to be really scared while on our way to wherever would give me back my sight? “Hmm. I see. Has she agreed?” The old man questioned, in a tone that wasn’t strong, neither was it weak.

The town itself had become a menacing presence, its streets a maze of peril, its citizens a hub of reporting sight back to his hunter. For an instant of flashing, tortured fear, a naked, primal fear clutched at him—the fear of the trapped animal. It was an emotion so alien to his character, so inimical to his function as the observer, the seer, that it might have sent him to his knees. He closed his eyes, forcing his breath to settle. He would not be hounded to earth. He would not give Harper, or the city, or cowering, treacherous Robert Clarkson, that satisfaction.

My shoulders are tense, my posture a little too guarded. She deserves young. Uncomplicated. Easy. My stomach knots. I remember how she looked the last time I held her. Lips parted. Hair tangled. Whispering Don’t stop, not now, not later. I want to be yours. Completely. I’d never seen anything more beautiful. I’d never felt anything more terrifying. That was the night everything changed. And now, I feel like I’m standing at the edge of something again. Not passion this time. But fear. I go to the living room and drop into the couch, rubbing my hands over my face.
