Blossom's POV My heart was racing fifty miles per hour. I was sweating and shivering as if I was having a fever over one hundred. "What say you?" the Judge questioned. This was it. In a court system, it's never wise to become cocky or overly confident. These things have a way of surprising the shit out of you no matter how well you presented the case. "We, the jury, finds Hunter Sax guilty on attempted murder." Everyone exhaled on cue and I found Jevan and pulled him in for a quick hug.

The prosecutor took the floor when the man finished, giving his last move with a DNA test that proved that Hunter is the son of Nicholas Mitchell, or, taking into account that all twins are parts of the same individual and perfect copies, that he is the son of a long-deceased and forgotten twin. Finally, with the opinion formed by the jury, the judge took into account the public commotion and decreed an open regime for this case, sentencing Hunter for two and a half years of detention. His conviction went from five years in prison to: house arrest, one and a half years of community service and a monthly fine until the end of serving the sentence.

The Hunter remained silent for a moment before lowering its massive head slightly. "I judged her," it answered. "Just as I will judge you." The words settled heavily between us. I tightened my fists, ready for whatever came next. If this creature had tested my mother, then perhaps it held the answers I had been searching for since I returned to Dark Hollow. I wasn't about to waste this opportunity.
