but she hadn’t spoken. Still, the name rang again. Distant. Then closer. A third time... from her own mouth. The sound did not belong to her. It belonged to the wolf. And all across the wild, they heard it. Julian sat on the roof of an old silo, cigarette smoldering between his fingers, eyes locked on the bleeding moon. He’d been spiraling since the ritual. Since Victor’s blood turned black. And then, like a tremor through his spine, he felt it.

Jul screams out to everyone and the room comes to life cheering at his suggestion. A huge smile comes across my face, all of this for me…I know many others would think otherwise but there are a lot of times I feel blended in, in this house. She glanced at Julian and asked, "Who are you?" With Jade taking the initiative to talk to him, Julian immediately became energetic, bouncing in front of her with a smile. "I'm Julian Orton. The lion is my pet, Edan. This is my family's private island. Isn't it beautiful?"

Julian got her, in a way that no one else ever had. And as they finally broke apart for air, Tris smiled up at Julian, feeling a sense of wonder. "How do you do it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Julian's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "Do what?" he asked. Tris's smile grew wider. "Make me feel like I'm the only person in the world," she said. Julian's expression softened, and he reached out to gently brush a strand of hair out of Tris's face. "You are the only person in my world, Anna," he said, his voice low and husky.

Then, the doors at the back opened. Julian stepped into the light. He was dressed in ivory silk, a color that should have looked ridiculous on a man in this house, but on him, it looked like a challenge. He was pale, his jaw set so tight I could see the muscles leaping in his throat, but his eyes... his eyes were two shards of blue fire. He didn't look like a victim. He looked like a fallen god walking among the ruins of his temple. As he reached the altar, I caught the faint scent of him not the blood and grime from the basement, but something clean, like ozone before a storm. My fingers twitched with the sudden, violent urge to reach out and see if his skin was as cold as his gaze.

Julia continued to talk, “You've had your own share of scandals and trust me, you're loved by people. You are seen as an influential woman, you know that?” “I don't know,” I replied weakly as I sipped on my drink. “You've been involved with big names so far!” Julia told me firmly. “Julian Holland, CEO of Empire Entertainment.
