I staggered, my vision spinning, my legs barely holding me up. I caught the wall just in time, trying to breathe through the dizziness.
“Julia?”
I heard the voice but my head was pounding too much to process it. Then a hand caught my arm, steadying me. I looked up, squinting through the blur.
Beta Ambrose.
His jaw was tight, his eyes dark and stormy.
Of course he’d show up now.
“Damn it,” he muttered, his fingers at my wrist, checking my pulse like he was afraid I’d drop dead any second.
