Julian threw one heavy arm across my waist, hand splayed over my stomach like he could shield the whole damn world from touching me. His breath tickled my ear. “You feel that? My wolf is right under my skin, ready to rip apart anything that scares you. Even the thunder if it keeps this shit up.”
I huffed a tiny laugh against Marcus’s chest. “You can’t fight the weather, Julian.”
“Watch me try,” he muttered. His fingers slipped under the hem of my shirt and traced small circles on my bare skin. Not pushing for more. Just letting me know he was there. The heat of his palm chased away some of the cold panic still clinging to me.
