Feels like she has this core of contemporary romance, usually with some big city setting and a strong heroine who’s maybe a little too witty for her own good, but she’s not afraid to toss in a paranormal element or a suspense plot to keep things spicy.

I wouldn’t call her a pure genre specialist, honestly. She’s more of a mood writer for me. I pick up her books when I want something that reads fast, has that electric tension between characters, and ends with a warmth that’s genuinely satisfying. Her style just makes the pages disappear, even if the plot isn’t breaking totally new ground.

Honestly, my go-to for Julie Johnson audiobooks has been Audible. She's got a bunch of romance stuff there, like the 'Boston Love Story' series. I listened to 'Maybe Now' and the narration was pretty solid, fit the vibe of the book well.

I did poke around Spotify recently though, and they have a surprising number of her titles included with Premium. Not the full catalog, but if you're already subbed it's worth a search. I found 'Puck Me Secretly' there last month, which saved me a credit.
