I muttered, my voice sounding thin in the darkened room. I felt a prickle of unease at the back of my neck. I tried to mute the TV. The laughter didn't stop, but it transformed. It became a shrill, high-pitched cackle that sounded less like a laugh and more like a scream of triumph. The hairs on my arms stood up. This wasn't a glitch. This wasn't a software bug. This was a response. I was being toyed with. My heart hammered against my ribs, a trapped bird in a cage of bone. I reached for the power button on the side of the TV. My hand was shaking, my sweat making the plastic casing slick. I jabbed it hard.

For one last time, I turn to him, “Ready?” He first takes a deep inhale, then he nods. And there, swiftly, I pull the closer doors open! Before we see it coming, tons of Donald Duck with pants stacked up crumble down in one second! Some of them even fall onto our heads and almost bury us! “KYAAAAA!!!!!” Jamie screams in his highest pitch as he shuts his eyes and jumps! He clings onto my arm and hides behind me! “GET AWAY FROM ME! GET AWAY FROM ME!”
