They had been saying all sorts of silly things but this one stroke a chord of recognition within me. “I have always known alpha Dante with finding a way to end her in this land. It was said that he stormed the A****n jungle around 5:00 a.m. in the morning and after having a scuffle with Luna Gladys, he ordered that the whole place be burnt down. All that is left of the mighty jungle now are rubbles and debris. “What!” I had no idea who they were referring to before, but once the realization hit my mind, my legs give way underneath me.

They look like they're itching for a fight. "Ladies, what do you say we let the men do the dirty work?" I ask the bunnies. Dayan smiles and looks toward Jordan. "Let's take out the trash, guys," Jordan yells. We move back and let the men take over. After they all get some kicks and punches, Adam and Tye are unconscious. Dayan and Jordan finish the job, snapping their necks. Some of the other misfits take the two bodies into the forest. Those are two men that no one should miss.

The group erupted in shocked laughter and whistles. My stomach flipped. Jax and Marcus. They were standing a few feet away, leaning against the railing, watching us with matching dark, interested expressions. Jax — my roommate’s older brother, was tall, heavily tattooed, with a cocky smirk that made panties drop across Miami. Marcus — his best friend — was quieter, more intense, built like a fighter with sharp features and eyes that always seemed to see too much. I’d fantasized about them more times than I cared to admit. But right now, getting a dare about them held me back a bit.

There was only the next step, the next patch of illuminated dirt. Then, the quality of the darkness ahead began to change. It softened from absolute black to deep grey. The candle’s flame bobbed, and then it winked out, its purpose fulfilled, falling silently into my waiting palm. Before us was the jungle’s edge. The twisted, familiar trees. The path of crushed bone was visible a few yards to our left. We were back. Out of the void. But we weren’t alone. Standing at the tree line, as if waiting for us, was Jenna. Blatantly ignoring her question, I quickly pulled on my boots and forced my thoughts away from pushing her back into the water to drown. I did everything in my power to save her and this is the thanks I get? Great. Clifford's girlfriend rattled on behind me and I tuned her out, taking a quick scan of our new surroundings. It didn't take much to notice that we were in a jungle. Strange creeping plants I'd never seen before crawled up the sides of tall thick trees, sprouting out huge colourful leaves. Reptiles scuttled around the plants whilst exotic birds chirped and fluttered

POV: The time has been reversed to more than half a day ago from Birdman's perspective. After bidding farewell to two foolish bears in the jungle, the Birdman struggled to flap his wings in the hail, with one wing protecting the leather bag. He flew for a while and fortunately stumbled upon an overhanging cliff where he landed to take shelter from the midnight rain. Now, he is an adult bird from the Joke tribe and his name is Minee. He waited under the cliff until the hail transformed into rain and snowflakes before continuing to flap his wings and fly outside of the jungle. Despite flying for four or five consecutive days, he was extremely tired.
