The six tore through the forest, Rick repelled the shower of arrows crashing against the shield like thunder claps, the twins aimed at any ranger they saw and fired, causing them to fall behind, before long they ran to catch up with the others. Druenn watched Reaflik in front of them disappear through a bush, a ranger from the right leapt into the bush with him, Druenn ripped through the leaves to find Reaflik all the while clinging tightly to Emily’s hand. Druenn came across a ranger that had slipped over, Emily and Druenn quickly slid their blades into the ranger's back and the ranger cried out in pain then fell limp, Druenn’s eyes darted left to right, there was no sign of Reaflik.

The ranger never heard him. When the ranger finally made it back to his truck, he yanked the door open and jumped in, slamming the door. He cranked the motor over, nearly flooding it in his panic, but it coughed to life and he slammed it into gear. He spun the truck around and gunned it, creating a rooster tail of dirt and pine needles behind the rear tires.

I thrum with a hunger that can’t be sated by any woman. Amidst my thoughts of Rain, I hear the sound of bullets rippling through the air. Instinctively, my wolf dodges. Puffing fast breaths amidst a rapidly beating heart, I veer in one swift movement to understand what just happened. And that’s when I see them. The police. The town’s special police force. Fuck! Hunt was on top of the man in seconds, his back heaving as he brought his fist down on the man's jaw. "Touch her again and I'll break more than your face," he shouted as he punched him again and again. I reached for his arm, but he was already standing up, dark blood dripping from his fingers as he grabbed me by the arm. Before Kyler could hit the other guy, he too ran off towards the town. "What the hell are you doing here?!" Hunt asked as he hauled me with him. "We'll run through the woods and get back through the mountains," Kyler told Hunt as we headed towards the Jeep.

Felix bellowed as he made another attempt at attacking Ragnar, only to meet a similar fate a second later, landing on the floor and spitting blood. He smiled good with a good sense of humour. “First, the next three rangers you meet are bonded lone wolves. Second, all three are contemplating a shared mating with Ebony. Third, she welcomes it, so please don’t mess it up on her. Fourth, one of them looks a lot like Ran. There may be a reason, and it’s not his fault.”

Helen whimpers in her sleep and shifts to get comfortable again. "baby, I tap her leg, lay on my lap",she moves and her head goes to my lap and she starts snoring. I chuckle loud and rub her side as I drive with one hand. We pull up to our territory and cross into it and flying behind us is rogues. Still out there waiting is the man carrying the rifle. Leo adds, approaching closely and his eyes never leaving mine, "I won't let them hurt you."
