A Deal with the Devil

A Deal with the Devil

But my mom was no kitten, she was a full-grown cat and clawed at him every chance she got, leaving scratches as proof, figuratively, of course, I think. A man next to the judge's table stood up suddenly. "We are gathered here for the trial of Rodrigo Barrett charged with the murder of his partner Nick Mills." Everyone stood up. "Court is now in session. Honorable judge Maxim T. Corbin presiding." The judge was old, old enough to have judged plenty of cases. He had a strict yet kind face. One we could trust to not flow in the rivers of money. "Please be seated." His voice was strong and authority rolled over him.

Totally enjoyed this book! Love the bickering of the main leads and the friendships amongst the group. Minor errors but does not affect the general feel of the book. Glad I decided to read this. Keep up the good work! ...

One Last Chase

One Last Chase

Tripp didn’t like the way Ari answered her father a little bit harshly to be in his defense. He decided to appear. He cleared his throat. “Sir, you must be Arizona’s father. Pleased to meet you.” He held his hand out. “I’m Tripp Wrylee.” The two froze as if Tripp just caught their hands in the cookie jar. “Teagan.” Ari’s dad eyed him, shaking his hand with wariness. “For the record, sir. It was entirely my fault that I got into an accident. I was upset about something, and I shouldn’t be crossing the road when I’m not thinking straight. I apologize for making you worried.”

Born to Stand Trial: My Parents vs Me

Born to Stand Trial: My Parents vs Me

"On the third charge of murder, in light of the facts, Ethan Harper is found not guilty, while Emma Harper is found guilty." The crowd reacted angrily to the conviction. "Appeal! We demand an appeal!" "What facts? The fact is that the family forced Emma to do it!" "How is this fair? After everything she's been through?" "What happens now? Is she really going to be executed?" The judge continued, "Summing up the verdicts for all three charges, Ethan Harper has passed the trial and is granted a chance at a new life. Emma Harper, having failed the trial and being found guilty of murder, will be sentenced to brain death."

Aziel: Ex-Mafia's Son-in-Law

This trial represented not just a quest for justice but also an opportunity to end the traumatic chapters of our lives as we sought answers, accountability, and a fresh start. In the courtroom, our collective efforts bore fruit, and Mr. Stone couldn't escape the consequences of his actions. Despite Tiffany's best efforts to assist her father in the case, which included retaining a top-notch lawyer and utilizing all her resources to ensure no news leaked regarding her father's trial, they couldn't disregard the mounting evidence and witness testimonies. The charges against Mr. Stone were extensive, including wrongful death, personal injury, kidnapping, and attempted murder, each carrying sign

Tears, Trials, & Trust

Brittney tried to stop the fight train that was leaving the train yard. " You have to have another pack Luna stand up for yourself? Wow Alice you are just as weak as you are poor." It was with that Alice let out a growl but still held herself back. Trying her best to not fight. Both her hands were now fists at her sides. " WE all know I can and I have kicked your ass before," Alice said then turned around to walk away. Only to have her left arm jerked back and a punch land on the left side of her face.

The Gladiator Wolf King - Book 3

The Gladiator Wolf King - Book 3

* It was the right thing to do, even though we wanted him dead, the law states we are to hold a trial, and Rhett was the head of the enforcers, upholders of the law. It was settled; little did Oliver know that it would be a fate worse than death. I could only imagine what Travis would do to him and it would be nothing less than what the scumbag deserved. “Oliver will be escorted back to MacTire, Alpha Travis and Gamma Rhett will try him for his crimes and decide on his fate,” I said. “Jasper, can your men escort Commander Tobias and the prisoner to your cells?” “Of course,” Jasper agreed and called a few of his men over.

There is too much to write about this story to write a review in 300 characters. I highly recommend this book, but start with the Delta’s Daughter if you haven’t already started there. Stout had me on a roller coaster of feelings with this one. I can’t wait to read the next one!

I really enjoyed this series. Many books on this platform have similar stories, which gets boring really fast. This book series kept me entertained the whole time. It had the perfect balance of romance and action. I enjoyed getting to know each character in more detail as each book was added.

The Nether Alchemist: Tales of a Necessary Evil

She took a sip after blowing off the steam that was dancing around the cup. “Listen, I know this abrupt but I need your help. I'm aware that something occurred that forced the two of you to withdraw from the trials, and I'd like to learn more about it. If it was anything horrific, I'd like to assist the two of you in bringing it to justice,” Cecily burst out laughing. She set the cup down and proceeded to converse. “Trust me, you can't find justice if the system you're using to get it is the same institution that's committing the injustice,”

She paused. "Someone wants to get rid of me for whatever reason, but I can't imagine who could be so evil. I have never harmed anyone. I swear I'm not guilty. You've got to trust me, "Her old fighting spirit had returned, she said a little forcefully. "I believe you but what will the jury say? You need a good lawyer to fight your case. Mind you, my dear, that thing is first grade cocaine," I stressed. "BUT I didn't touch it!" she exclaimed, a little more forcefully and optimistically.
