I had spent hours pouring over every book, committing everything I read to memory. I didn't want to miss a single thing. There had to be a way I could help Rayne. I was already so exhausted after the day I had endured. That, and all of this reading on top of it, had me fighting to stay awake. I swear I only closed my eyes one time and the next thing I know I'm dreamwalking.

Trisha heard Mrs Perry complain as she glided through shelves teemed with ages-old books before she could be pulled into hours-long conversation with the old lady. She picked up a book from a dilapidated shelf, blew off the dust that had found solace on it's leather covering over the years, and squinted— because of the poor illumination, to see the books name. ‘Wizards Can Do More’ by one of the greatest wizards ever, LP Travis. It was a book she wanted but not one she needed. Hence, she put it back in its spot among other dusty books and walked to another shelf.

Rosemary’s Pov “I will eat later…” I say softly , offering him a smile. He exchanges a look with Xavier , but I do not stay for the lectures that I know is coming. Instead I walk to the entrance and sit on the floor in a crossed legged position – my eyes fixated on the fiery red flames that almost touches the sky. I sit out there for a while , enjoying the peace of being alone. At this moment , all I ever want is to be alone. I would often feel my stomach kick me with hunger , as my nose smelt the food that was cooking but I easily turned my attention back to the burning kingdom.

Kendra sucked in air as a vision of Queen Isabo appeared before her. The a****n queen was standing amongst a small group of aliens. It was Kendra’s first view of the aliens occupying inner earth. They looked exactly like the ones on the surface. She shuddered with repulsion as the memories of her time as their prisoner fluttered through her mind.

But this time, it's not an educational book. I was reading a novel. A good novel. Safe Haven. Nicholas Sparks wrote the book. All I know is it also has a movie. Maybe I will watch it too.

Eliza cautiously inched away from the two brothers, hoping while she did so that they’d stay consumed with each other and not notice when she ran like the wind to get away from them. She was still confused by the topic of their conversation, but she clearly understood the words ‘killing people’ and ‘us or them’. Kendra followed her aunt out of the containment building. Filling her lungs with the crisp night air, she reveled in the feeling of freedom. Being a bound captive of Alice and her alien friends for even that brief time had made a negative impact on her that brought forth the other bad memories of being badly used that she struggled to keep buried and would one day have to find a way to release.
