Chapter: 26 ***** Kaidën stood over the droplets of blood on the ground. He went down on his knees and, with a swipe of his middle finger, scooped up his mother's blood. He used his thumb to smear the blood over his other fingers; it was warm, sticky, and smelled like melted iron. He repeated this action a couple more times before he heard a sudden click from the front door. Knowing who it was, he made a run for it, but his father had seen him and chased after him.

I saw the fear there. “I promise,” I said. He released me and stepped back. Kaidora handed me a small pouch. “This is a special type of poison. Mix it with any liquid. It kills within minutes.” I took the pouch. It was heavier than it looked. “There’s also a blade,” she continued. Pulled a thin dagger from her robes. “If poison isn’t an option.”

Blade came out with his usual all black clothing—a big black sweatshirt, a black baggy jean, black glasses, black face cap, black sneakers— and a revolver carefully tucked by his side. To my shock, the passenger door opened and a girl came out. She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. ~Celine~ After I finished in the bathroom, I heard a knock on my door. “Who is it?” I asked, fastening my short towel around my chest firmly as I walked to the door. “Kilhan.” He answered and a wide smile automatically lit up my face. I opened the door and our gazes met. “Good morning,” I uttered, while his eyes lingered on the towel around my body. “We are not doing it this morning,” I added, leaving the door as I walked to my closet.
