"Wow!" Akiko finally managed to speak after a brief silence. "Congratulations! Oji-san hasn’t mentioned anything to me." Akiko sounded cheerful—or at least tried to. But Kenji, who knew Akiko so well, could tell her smile—and congratulations—were far from genuine.

Sakura’s eyes gleamed with anticipation as she looked at Garfield. “Of course! You are going to be my future wife. Who else would I give that kind of good stuff to if I got it?
