Kane exhaled slowly, gaze sweeping over her face, her lips, her ridiculous drunken seriousness.
"...Yes."
Mona blinked.
"Yes?"
His voice was deep, unwavering. "I can imagine you as a painting."
Her heart did something stupid.
"Stop that."
Kane smirked. "Stop what?"
"That thing you're doing," she accused, waving her hand. "You're making my heart beat too fast. I feel like I could faint."
He leaned back, completely at ease. "Well, princess," he mused, "my heart beats fast too."
