By evening, Zoe’s scent of vanilla lotion and citrus shampoo had already blended into the penthouse air. When they finally collapsed on the couch with glasses of champagne in hand, Zoe raised hers high. “To us,” she declared. “New beginnings, new memories, and no more lonely nights.” Chloe clinked her glass against hers, smiling through the sting in her chest. “To us.” Zoe kicked her legs up on the coffee table, swirling the champagne in her glass with a sly grin. “So… how about your sugar daddy?” Chloe shifted uncomfortably, staring into the bubbles in her own glass. “Sugar daddy has ghosted me.”
