Chapter 80 Angelina’s POV The night air was thick with tension, pressing against my skin like a second layer. My steps were cautious as I walked down the dimly lit corridor, each footfall echoing against the polished wooden floor. The faint scent of damp earth and aged parchment filled my senses, a reminder that I was in unfamiliar territory. I sigh while leaning forward to get up as Embry gently grabs my arm helping me up. “Is there anything I should know about Angel and his family?” I question while slipping my feet into a pair of black flats to walk around in. “He was Osric’s Gamma and is a very skilled warrior, I suggest training with him. Angel learned to fight from Osric and your grandfather, your families have a long history of friendship. Angel’s wife is named Karen. Every time I look over Nevaeh’s desk, I imagine her and Aaron together, and my anger resurfaces. When I get home, I rush into my room and retract my wings. I’m so distracted by thoughts of Nevaeh, and that douche, Aaron, that I don’t notice the other presence in my room. “Wow, look who’s a grown boy now.” I turn, startled. “Kara? KIMBERLY’S POV Panic filled me and I couldn’t feel straight. I didn’t understand why I felt so scared for Ari. If Angel died, I doubted the people would let him go even though he did it with pure intentions. I stood up and locked the door. “Don’t make a noise okay? We’re going to wake Angel and we don’t need noise. Can you do that?” I asked them and they nodded. Angel had always been a weak girl from the time I knew her, she was always on her own going gently and looking frail so I could understand that her body probably couldn’t handle the poison and its consequences.
