Octavius sits down on my couch, and uncomfortable silence fills my home. I have always dreamed of being a werewolf's mate. I thought the bond was undeniable, and every wolf wanted their mate. Girl number eleven was now too close to Ace, as if she wanted to sit on her lap. She kept nudging for his biceps, rubbing her arms against Ace’s from time to time. Ace seemed to be oblivious of the lustful stares he was getting from the girls flocking around him. “Got it” Karen came back catching he breathe with three books in her hands. “Here.” “What am I going to do with these?” grabbing the offered books to me, the book on top was entitled ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’

The man was a billionaire and could pay for anything he wanted as long as he could get it. I moved close to the books and tried reading some of their titles. They were mostly novels, and a little gasp fled my lips when I saw my favorite dark romance series, sitting on the shelf. The Ryan Rule by Sadie Kincaid. I loved the four books of that series so much, and although I’ve read them all, I wouldn’t mind re-reading them again. I didn’t have the money to purchase the books so I borrowed from a schoolmate. But now they were here.

I was late morning when Tristan entered the room pulling my head of the book, I looked at him in slight amazement. “We have the conference call in twenty minutes.” He greeted stepping into the room as I looked up. “What?” He asked and I held up the book. “Tristan, this book.” I stated not really knowing how to explain it. “It’s a novel, just a story that I found in the library, but it’s based on a family of werewolves, the two daughters, twins, were born with a special gift, they could produce fire and ice.” I uttered and watched as his brows rose. “They later became joint alphas of the their pack. Do you think this could be the story of the alpha twins that we were looking for?”

Karen sat alone in the backseat of Henry’s car later that night, watching the city blur past the window. Everything was shifting. The Frost family. The Blakes. Even her. This wasn’t just survival anymore. This was war. And Karen Blake wasn’t afraid of fire. She was the fire. Karen stepped out of Frost Tower, heels sharp on concrete, head held higher than ever. Cameras flashed. Reporters swarmed. Questions were thrown like punches. She didn’t flinch. Not today. Henry’s black SUV pulled up. The driver opened the door.
