Evelyn's POV "I, Alpha Kyle Turner, reject you, Evelyn Sanders, as my mate." Alpha Kyle hoarse voice boomed in my ears making me freeze on my tracks, his voice laced with disgust. Crack! A cracking sound resounded inside my body and I felt as if a part of me was forcefully torn and taken away. My wolf howled in pain but there was nothing I could do about it. Tears flowed down my face as the pain became immeasurable, increasing with each second to the point I was unable to tolerate it. I could care less about the gazes on me. I was already used to it.

Carlos became irrational after a few minutes of the seers not appearing. Rising to his feet, he crossed his arms and paced the room. "Great! Now we're stuck in your kingdom with no seers showing up. Aren't you just nothing but a show off?" Carlos said to Xavier, his face held a mixture of anger, impatience, and worry. Xavier, who was more muscular, scoffed and walked up to Carlos with an intimidating stare. His muscles strained against his shirt with his loose buttons exposing his hairy chest, making him look like a sexy god.

THE ROAD HOME “I can't believe you’d kiss my own best friend Chris…I saw you two, don't even deny it” Carly shrieked pounding on the chest of the young man standing in front of her. “Carly… please this is more than I can control, you won't understand this, you wouldn't, even if I had proof that this isn't our fault. Neither Anna or I wanted this but it's just fate, Carly… fate” Chris said trying his best to calm the already fuming Carly.

Karl shrugged, pulling up a chair and spinning it backward to sit on it, arms resting on the backrest. David shook his head. “No?” “No…” “Wait, he is cheating?” Xander shot them another icy glare. Alexander’s doing something exciting!” “Shut up, Karl.” “Oh, come on!” Karl leaned forward, smirking. “You’ve been so saintly your whole damn life. I didn’t think you had it in you.”

Xavier, who came up with Chris, heard the noises too. Both stood outside the door and looked at each other in dismay. Xavier looked at Chris. “Chris, what’s wrong with dad? Why is he so angry?” Chris shook his head and remained silent with a tense face. Then, when he saw Xavier come alone, he asked, “Where’s your woman?” Xavier chuckled. “She isn’t feeling well, so she went to the restroom.” Chris nodded. Then, both of them pushed the door open and went in. Creak…

The business often ended on site. Before Xandra met Chris, she had always had a high opinion of her gender. Believed that women might be inferior in physical strength but could do just about anything better than men. Obviously, Chris was so handsome that even the most cultured and educated women would throw their wits overboard, and sometimes their decency immediately after, and throw themselves at him with or without invitation. Chris was like a celebrity in that regard. A kind of trophy that everyone wanted to adorn themselves with, no matter how long the contact had lasted.
