"What were you two talking about?" Xavier didn’t answer. "What’s with the attitude?" Chris’ mood soured instantly at his silence. This guy always had the same deadpan expression. He was just a broke nobody acting all high and mighty. "I heard you even refused to help Percy sue that woman," Chris sneered, folding his arms as he looked down at him. "Is that true?" The other car door shut close as Chris spoke in a slightly loud tone, his footsteps coming closer. Xander looked as if he was about to snap him into two with the way he suddenly let go and moved his inflamed body toward him, and from the corner of my eyes, I could tell that didn’t stop Chris from coming closer. Chris is human as far as I know. If Xander laid only half of the anger he was carrying on him...I can’t even think about it.

Chris, seemingly oblivious to the tension, chimed in, “Dreams don’t always mean something. I mean, I’ve had—” Carl cut him off with a sharp tone. “Dreams don’t count for much.” The two men exchanged a look, and Chris nodded in agreement. Renee let out a quiet breath of relief. Trying to change the subject, she turned to Chris. “What were you about to say earlier?” “Oh, just that I’ve had dreams like that too,” Chris said quickly, deflecting with a grin. “But Carl here? Dreaming about a little girl and even deciding the gender—sounds like someone’s been overthinking things.”

Chris crossed his legs and smiled broadly without minding the anger in Kelvin's eyes. "Tell me, man," he started, "are you pissed because Cara isn't here and you miss her because you have fallen in love with her, or you are pissed because you are not yet the CEO? Make me understand." Kelvin glared at Chris and dipped his hands back into his pockets, he silently wished he could punch off the smirk spreading across his face. He shook his head and ambled towards his chair without giving a response. Chris threw his hands in the air excitedly. "Yeah right! I thought as much. My awesome friend is in love but cannot admit it to my face! Awe-mazing!"

They were both stuck together in this mess. "I need answers, Xander, and don't brush me off again. Please stop the jokes about the marriage thing it is getting on my nerves." Karis said; she matched up to Xander, not letting go of his sharp gaze. She was tired of the game, she had a feeling she was being caught up in some scheme that now involved her children.

Karl's smile was sinister. “Why would any of the board memebers even agree with this!” Chase angered. Karl gripped his steering wheel, his race reddening “They don’t need to agree. It’s King we’re talking about.” Chase eyes narrowed. Keeping mute. Karl, who was a staff of a rival company, Myder Industries, has a long-standing vendetta against King. One that even Chase isn’t fully aware of. Asides for the fact that Karl still harbored jealous sexual thoughts against Kingston, he had other reasons for his resentments.

Christian said as he sat beside me eating his chips. " yeah, and that attracts more attention from the media," I said sipping my coffee. " But I think this can be a good exposure though," Carl said who just got back from the kitchen and hands us over the freshly cooked mojo's. " wow! Thanks, bro!" I said getting one slice of it. " no, I think not." Xander who was holding some coke in cans joined the conversations. " how do you say so?" Carl said munching his mojo's.

Mischievous, smug, infuriating and damn it, once upon a time, alluring. “Hello, Jimmie,” Karl said smoothly, eyes glinting. Fara looked between us, brows furrowed in curiosity. “Wait… you two know each other?” Heat rushed to my face. My mouth went dry, but I managed to stammer it out. “Yes! Karl is my ex!” Fara’s eyes widened, and then she chuckled, almost choking on a laugh. “Oh, this looks interesting.”

“What the hell are you thinking?” Chris asked, his cool tone edged with clear contempt for Dominic’s intelligence. Dominic fired back, “Then you tell me what the hell this is.” Who would believe it? Chris ran Xander Corporation. He was the head of the Xander family. But in the middle of the night, this cold, arrogant man had put in colored contacts, slapped on fake scars, and even worn a muscle suit. Then he had risked ruining his reputation just to sneak out of detention.
