Rosemary’s Pov “I will eat later…” I say softly , offering him a smile. He exchanges a look with Xavier , but I do not stay for the lectures that I know is coming. Instead I walk to the entrance and sit on the floor in a crossed legged position – my eyes fixated on the fiery red flames that almost touches the sky. I sit out there for a while , enjoying the peace of being alone. At this moment , all I ever want is to be alone. And since Gabriel is occupied, I’ll show you to your room.”

"That's a strange name for a kids' story," she whispered but bypassed it and continued the search.

His steps were purposeful as he made his way toward Hazel's room. As he neared the slightly ajar door, he caught a glimpse of Hazel's long legs — a sight that sparked a subtle desire. Pushing the door open gently, he entered the room, finding Hazel peacefully sprawled on the couch, lost in slumber. A book rested on her chest, a testament to her likely intention to indulge in some late-night reading. Hazel's room, an intimate sanctuary of books and untidiness, held the remnants of a tranquil night. Books scattered across the floor bore witness to intellectual pursuits, a reflection of Hazel's inquisitive mind.

He stilled when he saw the book in Luka’s hands. “You found that in my collection?” Luka gave him a look. “You mean your collection of uncategorized nightmares? Yeah.” Cassiel walked forward slowly, eyes on the open page. “That book wasn’t supposed to be with the others.” Selene folded her arms. “Because it tells us too much?” Cassiel met her gaze. “Because it tells you just enough to be afraid.” Theoden’s voice was low. “So we’re right. Something’s building.”

He looks at me like he wants to devour every inch of me and as I’m guided past him, I pretend I don’t feel it. Circles inside circles, and runes that I can't read. “Again?” I ask. “We had such a lovely time upstairs writing with my blood. You can’t even offer a snack break for round two?”
