I responded and followed her to her room. I followed Kasy to her room and found her bed unmade. She handed me the sheets and blanket and asked me to lay them on the bed. I didn't want to do it, but I thought it would be better to keep an eye on her. As I was tucking the sheets under the mattress, I couldn't help but look around her room. It was small but neat, and there wasn't much to see except for a small nightstand with a lamp and a few books. It was an empty room before and she had to occupy it. I didn’t see anything in the room but I still had my doubts.

After pulling away from him, I patted him on the back as quickly as possible. "Oh, thank Goddess," I whispered. After a few moments, Ikiaris gently grasped my hand and kissed it before saying, "There's something you need to know." Then he slowly stood up and walked towards the bed, where he grabbed the book. After glancing at me, he gestured to the bed with his hand. Standing, I walked over and sat down beside him. "I am assuming this is the book you got from the bookstore, isn't it?" he asked me. Nodding silently, I awaited his response.

A sharp scent of incense welcomes me as Asher pulls open a door and drags me into a room floored with exotic hardwood. "Wow! Is this your room?" I ask, looking at the large exquisite wooden bookcase covering half of the wall on one side of the room, fully filled with books. There's a connected study table and a few books are also lying scattered above it. "Yeah.." he nods and plops down on the big bulky bed propped up against the wall opposite the doors, letting me study his room.

I made sure to luck it behind me. Then I took a cursory glance around her room, they were tidy but filled with books. Cassie definitely loved to read. The room was just as big as my room in my parents’ mansion and slightly bigger than the one I lived in. “This is really nice.” I said to myself. Then I moved to her bed. The sheets were soft and silky… too comfortable for their own good. I sprawled out and closed my eyes. “I hope she shows up soon.” *** “Ledger.”

Big and bold. Kael scoots over, creating a small sliver of space for me, and I fold myself awkwardly onto his tiny bed. My body contorts, cramped into angles that feel more like origami than comfort. I open the book, and of course—it is about space, just like the rest of his room, where planets dangle from the ceiling and stars scatter across the wallpaper. At least it’s educational, though that’s little comfort. A groan slips out before I can stop it. Which fool bought this monstrosity? Then realization crashes down like a cruel punch. It was me. I cursed myself with this. Never again will I encourage bedtime reading.

The universe would have had to gamble some of the ozone layer just for those words to even be placed in that order. I was willing to take it an extra step. Even Cassian didn't seem to believe what he just heard. He shook his head, bit his lip and then slightly tilted his head as he looked at me. "I must've heard you wrong, because what I heard is that you want to read me a bedtime story,” he commented with his eyes still transfixed on me. "That's exactly what I said,” I responded as I waved the book in the air. “I don't know if you've read this book about the king who had everything he could have wished for, except for a soul,” I added as I showed him the cover.

You must be interested in mythical creatures. Are you going to buy that book?" asked an old man, who seemed to be the seller. "Yes," he just said. The seller tells him the price and Kasper immediately pays for it. After Kasper bought the book, he find a place that can be a seat. He also uses his mind link to tell Flint his whereabouts, it wasn't far from the place where Flint buys food.

##Chapter 4: Cassidy Book One: Stay A low groan rumbles its way from deep within the mountain of pillows and blankets. "I don't feel good," the voice croaks. "I think I have the flu." I snort with about as much derision as I can muster. "What you technically have is called the twenty-four-hour booze flu," I singsong gleefully before yanking open the thick, ugly blue curtains covering our dorm room window and allowing bright sunlight to filter in.

Where did she go? “Kas?” I ask out loud. I hear a little growl coming from under the solid mahogany bed frame. I bend down and look. Sure enough, I see her glowing purple eyes looking at me. She has positioned herself so there is no way I could possibly reach her without lifting the whole bed. "I think I fucked up." I say to Saint. "Yeah. Well said, dummy." Kas's POV I wake up in a large comfortable bed. I take in my surroundings. The room around me is light and airy. The furniture is mahogany and the linens are made of silk. I'm definitely not in the Silver Moon packhouse. I'm not in a hospital room either.
