Are they looking for her? “Are you the woman accompanying Louis?” The woman at the front of this group named Celina Stewart asked her, her voice mixed with annoyance and arrogance. Katherine announced. They had the rest of their meal in silence and once they were done, Katherine and her brother went to their separate rooms to prepare for work while their mom and Isabella cleared the table and both retired to the kitchen to wash the dishes. Katherine quickly washed up and changed into a black wide leg trouser and a white tank top with a white sneakers to match. She slid inside, carrying a fresh tray of warm, aromatic chicken soup and elderberry tea. The darkness of the room didn't deter her. She walked gracefully across the floorboards, setting the tray down directly over the twisted metal photo frame on Duncan’s desk.

She slipped a bookmark between the pages of her book and closed it slowly. “Collette went outside,” Katherine replied. “Said she wanted some fresh air. She also said she wanted to be alone.”
