Rising on her toes, she leaned in—pressing her lips softly against his.
Kane froze.
It wasn't even a real kiss—just a brush of warmth, a fleeting press of mouth against mouth. She barely had time to register the feel of him before she panicked, stumbling back with wide eyes, fingertips touching her lips.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, breathless. "I wasn't thinking—I just—uhm—it's my first date, and in movies, it always ends with a kiss, and I—" She groaned, looking down at her shoes. "This isn't a movie."
