Then, a deadly stampede began. A rush of terror hit Kayla as she looked around, terrified by the stampede but clueless about what was happening. Kayla swung her head to the right and her eyes met them. The people who Irene had seen in her vision. There were thirty combatants, all dressed in black combat uniforms, and black gas masks. Their vermilion-red eyes were visible in the black gas masks they wore. They held guns and black, steely shields with VM as a symbol. Kayla knew who they were. They were V Empire warriors.

Brand had forgotten what it felt like – the all-consuming need for the blood of his enemies to be spilled on the ground at his feet. Brand shook his head another scream was silenced as he ripped out another throat. The blood dripped from his long snout as he took a breath and looked around him. Leather-clad warriors lay around him, some with eyes open staring at the sky as if looking for the Valkyries coming to take them to Valhalla. Brand snorted. Good luck. He couldn't believe the gods would want any of these followers of a deranged leader in their feasting halls.

My voice shook with emotions, and cracked at times as I fought against the tears. “You are my best friend, my lover, and my soulmate. That is a very bold and courageous step but now that I think of it, I don’t know how I can make that happen. The Vikings and Black Harem hatred goes beyond just a regular one. Any Viking citizen that sets foot on the Black Harem land is immediately killed and vice versa. I yelped and staggered back with force. The crowd behind Kairos was going mad. Kairos, himself, looked enraged. His dark gold eyes were pulsing with anger. His hair was sticking up all over, arms and legs rippling with muscle. I quickly dropped back into my stance. I tried a combo of jabs that Valentin taught me. Kairos blocked each one of them.

He left his words to linger in their ears, Ashwin already decided on his plan of action and even if they did as he asked, all were going to die and the pocket universe holding the Norse pantheon would disappear. “No, I refuse to hand the heirloom to a stranger like you.
