She loved them too much to leave them behind, even if she didn't feel the same way about him. He called for Bubble, Kim's droopy basset hound, but didn't get a response. He didn't bother calling for Tobi, figuring that cats don't normally come when they are called anyway. He was one of the few people Tobi seemed to like, though, and she normally greeted him at the door. Having not seen her since his arrival was not a good sign.

After some time, he bought a Pomeranian dog and named it Momo too, so that it could grow up with Little Karen while they wait for Big Karen's return. It was because of Kevin Kyle's attentive care that Little Karen was so healthy and lively today.

Verity knocked on the door twice, seeking his attention. “Oh, you are here already? Verity fell on the wooden floor, trying to catch the dog as it jumped on her. It excitedly wagged its tail, licking her cheeks as she chuckled. Alpha King laughed. Verity caressed the dog’s ears. “Aww. Did you miss me, Zen? Sit!” she said, and Zen followed her command and sat in front of her. She squatted and stretched out her hand. “Paw,” she said, and he placed his paw in her hand, doing a cute handshake with her.

“Cerebus, no-!” I try to run towards him but Damien holds me back, “It’s okay. Cerebus can’t be be killed. The most he’ll get is a bruised rib.” His words are proven true moments later when one of the Kalari kicks their back hoove into Cerebus’s chest and the dog goes tumbling backwards. He limps towards me, whining, his eyes holding an injured look. “He does this every time,” Damien explains before saying. “Go get treated, you idiot.”
