A faint smile broke through her tear-streaked face as she whispered through her sobs, "Thank you." After that, she looked up Cameron online, then spent the next two weeks waiting outside Cameron's residential area, only for him to never appear even once. That night, Bianca was dead set on waiting for Cameron. He was a no-show as dawn broke, though, so she despondently trudged down the street, the biting wind whipping at her face. She felt no pain, though, only the suffocating pressure in her chest, as if something inside her was collapsing.

I took a table, and sat down to wait for them. I was slightly nervous, but it was an open, crowded place, so I knew I would be safe. By 11:30 am, my mystery mailer hadn’t arrived. I was beginning to think it was a prank, when I heard, “Sorry to keep you waiting, sweetheart.” I looked up and my eyes widened. “You?”

He turned around and stared at me, frozen in place, my face pale. Frowning, he snapped, "Look! Why did you have to keep fighting for it? Take the card and buy a new one tomorrow. "Clean up the shards on the floor so Susan won't get injured." With that, he wrapped his arm around Susan's waist and walked upstairs. Susan leaned against his chest before turning to look at me with a hint of triumph in her eyes. I slowly crouched. The marble floor was icy-cold. I picked up a sharp shard and pressed my fingertip against the edge, letting it pierce through my skin.

"Alpha Marcus. Healer Quinn is waiting for you upstairs." Julian watched them. His whole world spun. That man had the VIP pass Julian was dying for. That man could just walk right in. To see his Harper. Raw jealousy, sharp as snake fangs, sank into his heart. His fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned white. Blood welled from his palms, dripping like scarlet petals onto the perfect white snow. Hours ticked by. Alpha Marcus didn't come out. Julian spotted them laughing together in the lobby. Despair and rage boiled inside him. He was losing his damn mind.
