It didn't fight the white beam; it **Absorbed** it. Kaima used the last of her strength to pull the energy of the "Final Audit" into herself. She wasn't saving herself. She was building a **Bridge**. "Rowan," her voice whispered, clear and beautiful, right in his ear. "Look at the key." Rowan looked down. The silver key he had used to open the Vault was lying in the ash at his feet. It was glowing with a pure, white light. "Take it," Kaima said. "Take the others. Go back to the **Zero**."

It was the "Key." ​"I’m sorry," she whispered. "I just wanted to hear the music again." ​The Purge of the Peak ​Leo ran back to the Summit Hall, the obsidian shard clutched in his hand. He found Maya and Ren already there, fighting to keep the Amber Seed from shattering under the pressure of the violet light. ​"I have the key!" Leo yelled. ​He pressed the shard against the bark of the seed. For a moment, the world went white. A massive wave of energy erupted from the seed, a "Sonic Boom" of pure Resonance that traveled through every floor of the Iron Peak and out into the valley.

The blades were wickedly curved, etched with silver runes. "Are those... backup measures?" Noah asked, his voice low. Kael didn't turn around, but Noah saw the corner of his mouth twitch into a smirk in the reflection of a nearby windowpane. "One must always be prepared for the final boss, as you would say. These are quite special. I borrowed them from our dear friend Chayton’s private collection while he was busy nursing his bruised ego. I’m sure he won't mind. Sharing is caring, bestie."

His golden eyes looked down to my hand, which was still tightly holding the silver keycard of Kaelen. Caleb opened his eyes a little, and then tossed his head back and gave a bellowing, yell-like laugh that reverberated against the steel walls. O, this is good stuff, Caleb smiled, glimpsing his long canines. He drew near, with one big hand on the glass cabinet immediately beside my head. You were playing the master key That’s Kaelen, you were playing his master key. You did not steal the King, you played him the heir You stole him through his very nose.

Blood trickled from the blade’s edge, already nicking her skin. “The key is on me,” Justine continued, eyes locked with Kael’s. “And if you don’t activate the Kyrexin-X now, I’ll do what I should have done a long time ago.” Angela whimpered. Thane growled, eyes blazing. Kael stood slowly, fists clenched. “Don’t—” he began, voice cracking. “Then do what I said!” Justine roared, jabbing the blade closer. Kael stood, trembling, torn. His breath came in ragged bursts. Behind him, Thane rose slowly too, his gaze burning.

“And I think… I think I know what we need to do.” As I said this, my eyes caught sight of a pedestal I hadn't seen earlier. On it was a glowing object—a key, it seemed, that was pulsating with magical energy. “The Key of Harmony,” the voice echoed one last time before fading away. “Use it wisely, Catalyst.” As I reached for the key, I heard a commotion from above. Raised voices, the sound of a scuffle. Xander and I exchanged a worried glance before hurrying back up the stairs, Cyrus and Kara close behind.

Because if he doesn't, I would get blamed for all of it. I stood on my feet and opened the drawer in search of my cell phone just to remember that it was in the car. I slipped into my slippers and rushed downstairs careful not to hit my swollen palm on anything. When I reached the first living room, I remembered the key. The car key. Oh shit. The car key. I rushed back upstairs and opened the door to the room. I rummaged through the nightstand looking for the key to the Lamborghini. Jeez, there are so many keys. How was I going to know the one which suits the car?

ITEM ID: ADMIN_KEY_01. A glowing gold key materialized in Ren’s hand. It wasn't a weapon. It was a permission token. He handed it to Jax. "You don't need a gun, Jax. You need access. Take this. It lets you open the back doors. Go find the others. Find Viper. Find anyone who is still awake." Jax took the key. As soon as he touched it, his avatar stabilized. The blue swirl became a face—a young, scared, defiant face.

"It's breaking." Kieran nodded grimly. "It won't survive another attack." Nova looked around desperately. "There has to be something we can do." "There is." Kieran pointed toward the nearest pillar. "The first seal." Nova followed his gaze. The pillar stood only a few yards away. Its light was fading rapidly. "What do I do?" "The dagger." She looked down at the ancient blade. "What about it?" "It's a royal key." Nova frowned. "I don't understand." "It wasn't made to kill."
