Everyone nods and hangs up. “You do know how I feel,” Kimberly looks at his face. “Almost. Vivan was killed in battle, Marissa will die in front of you,” Lexington holds her. “No, I won’t watch. I’ll be in our room,” Kimberly kisses him and stands up. “I don’t have a sister.” Lexington smiles and nod. Lexington watches Kimberly go into their bedroom.

The details felt foggy now, shrouded in a haze of panic and disbelief, the edges blurring like a dream fading upon waking. Something inside of me stirred, emotions slowly made its presence known as I fell to my knees. I gripped the headstone and started to cry.
