Her clothes clung to her like a second skin, cold and useless.
Karl noticed. “Get out of those.”
She raised a brow. “Excuse me?”
He tossed her a dry cloak from his pack. “You’ll freeze if you stay wet.”
She hesitated.
Karl turned his back. “I won’t look.”
Rolling her eyes, she quickly stripped off the soaked clothes and wrapped herself in the cloak, then dropped to sit near the fire. Her body shook with cold, her muscles aching.
Karl remained across from her, shirtless as he wrung out his own clothes. His torso was covered in scars—some old, some newer. She couldn’t help but stare.
