He has to swing. He draws in a ragged breath and throws a left hook. Killian flickers, the flip-shift so quick it’s almost invisible to the eye. Lochlan’s fist meets nothing but air as Killian casually extends his leg and drives his foot into Lochlan’s good knee. A bloodcurdling scream echoes from the rafters, and bone tears through flesh, a rain of red spurting through the air. My stomach heaves. My wolf howls in delight. Behind me, an elder, maybe Nuala, says, “He should’ve taken a knee. At least then he’d still have a working one.”

"Because the alternative was letting something happen to you that didn't need to happen. And I didn't want that." The room was very quiet. "That's not a captain answer," I said. "No," he agreed. Killian’s POV “Do I know you A.J Lowell?” “No Captain.” I kept staring at his giant back as I walked off the ice rink. The head helmet didn’t give me enough opportunity to gauge his expression but he just called me Alpha. He definitely knows that I am a werewolf and Silverfang pack leader at that. Was he a spy or something? “Captain, do you have something to say to our new intake? You have been staring at…his big butt…I mean back.” Scott, one of the team members said beside me.

“Until I end the Irish mafia and make sure their kinds are never reborn again.” The next day, I was on my way to the airport with Killian driving me there. He had a cocky smile that showed he was happy and content with what he had done so far. I said I was going to cut off his tongue and feed it to my bullies, but I changed my mind. He was useful after all, and without his tongue, he can’t speak. “Cocky much?” I smirked, going through every little detail about Kaida Reyes. One I didn’t know over the past year.

He held a thick piece of wood in his hands, long and cylindrical but bent here and there, and nearly snapped in half. Sylvia recognized it to be Ol’ Man Rick’s cane, one he stubbornly refused to use save for when his knees ached from the winter chill. “Kill,” she whispered, her throat dry and scratchy. His fiery red eyes studied her intensely. He clicked his tongue and spat at the unconscious Uno. “I told you to watch out for these bastards.” Killian raised the ruined cane high and smacked the boy’s behind with such strength it finally snapped, the broken piece flying a few meters away. Then he threw the useless half in his hand.

Killian paused, his eyes moving to the four boys tickling their nanny. He couldn't help but notice how she laughed and interacted with his sons. Happy and carefree. Her smile was… “Mr. Grafton? Mr. Grafton? Is your network unstable?” Killian snapped out of his thoughts. “My apologies. I'll carry on. The contract for the Huksul project has been approved. I have it right here with me…” Killian paused as he looked at the cover of the document on his table. A stick figure man was holding a woman, and underneath the drawing were the words, MUMMY AND DADDY!.

I smirked back at her and rolled my eyes as she stuck her tongue out. The familiar citrus and sandalwood scent wafted from behind me, and I resisted the urge to turn around. From Maria and Kira's widening smirks, I knew who was behind me. "Hello, little mate." His husky voice called out from behind me. I could feel the heat running off of his body and my mind was instantly taken back to earlier that day. A blush crept up my cheeks as I turned around and faced Killian. He looked absolutely gorgeous, wearing a solid black suit. His hair was tousled as usual. His very presence demanded attention. Killian remarked as he tapped my head softly. Could somebody pinch me? Why is he being so sweet and charming? If this is fantasy, then I never want to return to my reality. What I like about Killian was that he never really made me feel like I am at a terminal stage of my cancer. I could tell that he does not like me out of pity too. "Why are you so understanding, Captain Hook? I thought you were the villain in Peter pan." I joked around. The atmosphere was getting too serious and it does not vibe along with the happy mood in the area.

He grabbed a heavy metal crowbar from the floor, his gun was empty. He stepped out into the freezing wind. He looked like a man with nothing left to lose. His eyes were pure, lethal gold.
